Dark Knights: Metal

Dark Knights: Metal 4/10

I finally read it to see, if i like Batman Who Laughs since sideshow made a pf. If i liked him, i would get the pf, but there wasn't much appearance by the evil dark knight of Barbatos to feel anything about them in the deluxe. No back story about them what so ever but i got another hc called Dark Knights Rising. May be the back stories are there but i must say Metal Deluxe on its own doesn't look like anything once you finished the adventure. Not enough meat in the adventure in the Deluxe. Certainly felt russhed.

There was this interesting thing about the Dark Knights: Metal though, It didn't feel big like the adventures in the Batman run of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. Their Batman run adventures were cetainly bigger more bombastic adventures than Metal and Metal supposed to be the event, the biggest adventure of Batman after Snyder&Capullo run of Batman and all star Batman run of Snyder, yet it didn't feel that way. Anyone else reading the Metal ? what are your thoughts ?

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Let me put it this way, I won't read it a second time. The drawings are great, but I was absolutely not enthusiastic about the story. No matter how fantastic and untrustworthy a story is, I can get excited about it if it is told well.
With Dark Metal I got bored quickly and only read it to the end because I wanted to get to know the characters that Prime 1 brings out as statues.

I actually like a lot of Snyder's stories but this one just didn't hit for me.

Totally agree, the drawings are really lovely, but the story doesn't really catch on at all. It was hard to finish it the first time, and the second time to take it on...No thanks already!
I'd better go do my accounting homework.
