Yes, statue delays in general are sort of dampening my love of the hobby.

Yep. For this statue in particular, 988 days and counting since first revealed.

I think you have to put it out of mind or the wait becomes stressful.

When the hobby's primary activities are giving interest-free money to producers and waiting, long enough for them to make good on your investment, before finally getting a shipping notification, it is no wonder it sucks.
I visualize that with any new preorder being 1 year out, it won't exist until a year to 1.5 in practice. Of course, it often becomes 2-2.5 years. The question is whether you're willing to continue leveraging yourself into far out preorders, versus scooping whatever's in stock and coming soon. A lot can also change in one's personal circumstances and tastes in two years.
I think Harley beat Ciri for longest production time, no?

If the waiting time is too long for me, I simply cancel the pre-order.
There are always such great statues on the market that I am no longer interested in the statue that I ordered. Wanting to have is simply gone over time.

Unless its Sideshow here in the US I believe you loose the NRD. I for one have had it loosing NRD's. IMHO The company should commit to a timeline and after that be compelled to refund the NRD. My solution is I try to pre-order as little as possible but that doesn't always work out.

I only buy in German shops and have never had to make an advance payment before. At least not in the shops where I order.
And if the delivery is delayed several times then that is a reason for me to cancel the order. I've never had a problem with that before.

Besides SSC rehashes, the only guarantee in statue collecting these days is a delay on Prime 1 pieces.
