U2 album on my phone!

So U2 announced a new album at the Apple event this week and it looks like they sent the free album to all 800 million iTunes users. I checked my phone and sure enough it is there. Granted I like U2 but it seems a little intrusive to push it to me without asking. Anyone else a little bothered by this?

Looks like they pushed it to your icloud account and not actually your phone. I have it too but have to "download" it to play.

Screw that, very intrusive. Almost as if they're counting on impulse buys.

Now .... if it was "The Welk" ... now, that would be a different story.

No, I'm not bothered by it because my phone is not set to automatically download all my purchases from the cloud.

I doubt that, haha.

Not at all. I've been listening to the album all day and it is great! U2 is like the good old wine. It just gets better and better!

Technically it is not an intrusion of privacy. It is a gift to all apple store users. Just call it a membership freebie.

If this were "the old days" and they mailed you a CD without asking, would it bother you?

In all honesty, this is the best album from U2 in years. Lyrics are poetically charged and full of hope. The Edge and Adam Clayton are at the top of their game as always. Lovely ambience sound with brilliantly arranged guitar and bass riffs. This album needs to be heard from begining to end without a doubt. I highly recommend it.
