Agreed the single strand of hair on top really annoys me too

I guess the much hated bishoujo crappy style is going to stick around longer.

Oh so I see the bird buckle was on the wrong side the first time around too. At least it’s consistent

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

It's very much a Shunya thing. So much of his drawings have it, and I too am not a fan of it.

It's an anime trope. It's called 'ahoge', or idiot hair.

Well, you learn something new everyday.

I personally can't UN-see that strand on my Supergirl and Spider-Woman ever since you guys pointed it out.

The hair is fine enough for a sketch - but enough with on the actual statue. None of those characters are “idiots”. It’s ridiculous that it is on some characters, but not all. And it’s ALWAYS stupid looking.

I won’t be buying this if it has that hair. Let’s see if Koto saves me some money.

I honestly did not know that, thanks. I must agree it's weird usage on these characters if it's truly meant to insinuate they are dumb.

I feel like maybe the trope has evolved past that specific definition perhaps?

I don't think it's meant as insinuation as much as an association like the difference between a causation and correlation.

Hot chicks are associated with being "ditzy" by a high incidence of association not by absolute definition.

It's use here is kinda like "hot mess" where someone is still really attractive even when they aren't all cleaned up to usual standards.

More like the
"yes I'm a really powerful super villain/hero" followed by "oh, I'm hot? I hadn't noticed"
kind of ironic ignorance than actual idiocy. Mainly meant to illustrate the depiction isn't taken too seriously.
