WOW, got teary eyes reading that. I will always covet his run on New Teen Titans. That was my absolute favorite comic book growing up in the 80's.

He will be very much missed and I hope he gets to enjoy what is left of his life to the fullest.

Terrible news. Much respect for not burdening his wife with crazy treatment bills and trying to make the most of his time left.

I did get choked up whenever I read that article about that but I feel he is facing the cancer very courageously and I do have the upmost respect for him to still wanting to live his full life and not have to be constantly burdened by doctors appointments and hospital treatments

I actually met him in 2000 at a local convention and you couldn’t have had a nicer, more courteous individual-there just was not one single shred of ego anywhere

George is definitely a true true icon and will be missed in every sense of the word however the legacy he is leaving behind is incredible and will still entertain and provide joy to people for decades and decades to come

As collectors we were definitely blessed to have him as part of our collecting experience
