I sold mine but one thing that was nice about the shape of the base was that you could position Ryu and E. Ryu against each other - they were sort of faced outwards but towards each other - both throwing hadoukens. It looked really good. I have a picture somewhere...
It's like the bases almost interlinked. The statues were much closer together than what's possible with a regular round base.
