No, the previous one looked nothing like a porn star in cosplay. The second one that Harbottle sculpted is superb, and actually looks like a warrior.

If you had said Prime instead of XM then I'd see your point. Not saying Sideshow won't make a gold version of one of these Red Sonja PF's though because, at this point, nothing would surprise me.
XM has existed for three years and they have producednor have in the loop 4 IronMan, 3 Hulks,
3 Spider-Man's, 2 Caps, 2 Mags, 2 Mags, and 3 Wolverines.... my point is simple ... every company revisits top sellers all the time. Obviously Dynamit has 3 cash cows and they are ant SSC to produce the hell out of them.

I don't see SS being at fault here. Dynamite's business model is practically built around acquiring cheap licenses and quantity over quality publishing (which isn't to say their books are bad. They often get solid writers) to maintain brand awareness. I imagine this is part of the deal they have with SS. Also, the Sonja and Vampi statues Dynamite produce in-house significantly outnumber the Dejahs and Jungle Girls, for example. SS did give us a Purgatori eventually, so others might not be far behind.

The XM statues have at least had different outfits for the most part. Red Sonja has the same outfit every time, and I'd argue that she is in no way as popular as any of the characters XM has redone. Everyone expects a million versions of Batman, Spider-Man, Hulk, etc, but Red Sonja? I guess a lot of my surprise and frustration about another Red Sonja PF is that it's taking the place of another piece Sideshow could make of a character that hasn't been done yet. How about Sideshow releasing more pieces to finish the lines they've started? Where's Star-Lord and Drax to go with the other GOTG? Where's Robin, Nightwing, Flash, Martian Manhunter, any of the Green Lanterns besides Sinestro and Green Lantern (that they've also doubled up on), Green Arrow, Two-Face, Doomsday, Bizarro, Cyborg Superman, Metallo, Black Manta, Zod, etc. Where are the rest of Spider-Man's villains? Where are Nightcrawler, Juggernaut, Professor X, Kitty Pryde, Beast, Iceman, Angel, Archangel, etc.? It'd be nice to see any of those characters instead of yet another Wolverine, another Red Sonja, and Lady Deadpool.

I was excited to see Purgatori until I realized they didn't make it 1/4 scale to match Lady Death.

....in a chainmail barely covering her bewbs and privates. She's actually more covered here. It's Red Sonja, same as other Dynamite characters, ALL of them are practically naked dude, not sure if this topic is a good one to even argue about No warrior would use this type of armor in real life.

I kind of agree with some people, I don't think another Sonja was exactly being screamed for since we just had one and we just had another Lady death and a New Vampirella on the way as well.

But to play devil's advocate we also don't know the deal Sideshow has with dynamite for their licenses, so perhaps they need to put out more product in timely fashion to keep the license going or maybe it's part of their current contract on releases. And it's not like Dynamite has ton of licenses, so they figured Sonja was safest for a timed release.

But yes, we could have seen something a little different and it would have been nice.

So Dynamite decides which statues SS makes? I'm a bit confused with your statement.

In XM's defense they only had the Marvel license for a long time and even now they only have a few other licenses compared to SS who has a pretty big choice of licenses to use.

I rather see SS make less statues so the ones they do make come out better. Or at least have more consistency, right now they make a few great statues and then they put out a few sub-par statues quality wise... With their constant rising prices they need to make sure all their statues come out great.

And yes I'm still bitter over my mutant Black Canary hand.
