Big fan & very sorry to hear he's gone. But, 91 is one heck of a long life & he seemed to squeeze the most from it. I met him once, maybe 20+ years back. He came to the university I was working at to give a lecture to medical students & hospital doctors on the healing power of laughter. I was fortunate enough to get a seat. Here he came with all these stuffy DC doctors sitting around in a room. He sits down at a table, we all wait for the start of his lecture, & he proceeds to stuff the water glass in front of him into his mouth, completely inserting the entire lip of the glass in, & tilts his head back to drink from it. Everyone just howled. His lecture turned out to be very interesting & purposeful. After the crowd left, I hung back & was able to shake his hand & let him know how big a fan I was. I told him I still play his record - Jerry Lewis Sings - on my turntable. I forget the snappy thing he said back. His book Dean & Me, A Love Story, was also a great read. RIP.
