The Illusive Peter Laird...

So, I follow a page on Facebook called Shellback Artworks which is an art supply store run by Steve Lavigne, long time TMNT colourist for Mirage and TMNT Licensing Art. Occasionally Peter Laird, who he is still close with, comes into Shellback Artworks and sometimes he does some sketch covers for Steve to colour and sell.

Steve posted two up on his page the other day and I was quick enough to snag the second one after missing out on the first.



Steve coloured them both with the red Mirage bandanna, so technically it could be any turtle. But since my favourite is Raph anyway, I figured that to me it will be Raph haha!

Awesome! How come Laird doesn't seem to make any appearances?

I've always wondered if there was any kind of falling out. The last few years Eastman has been at all the major cons and always signing and doing super quick sketches. I don't think Laird has ever been at a con I've been at - even local ones in New England.

On that point I'd love to get Laird to sign a few things I have. I'd like to have Laird add his name to my two Eastman books. I have two artbooks I always bring with me to cons and have had Eastman sign and sketch small heads on them each year/time I find him. We've got two Turtles, Splinter and Shredder. Would be cool to have a Laird signature on it too.
