I just asked Jay. Here's his response, using Batman as an example:

All characters in the main batman story line. And all his alternate versions in comics. Basically all batman related characters.

Superman core means Kryptonians...dare I dream for a second 1:3 Power Girl?

That sliver of portrait might be my favorite for that character so far- in any scale.

While there may be some complaints about retreading the Cap museum posing here, if there were ever two characters that deserved the optimistic "looking to the heavens" pose, it is those two.

Ironically enough, they could also utilize a slightly similar pointing pose, this time with the arm and Supe's head both pointing up- which is not the orientation on the Cap- and have it be both a valid pose for the character, and a quasi-homage to one of the early Chris Reeve publicity images as the character.

This looks like it could be the first LBS after Thor to make me seriously regret not having more space.

This could end up being the most definitive Superman of all times. Very excited to see more.

Very interested. I respect Alex Ross style, but I wouldn't get any if they go only that route. That second more comic looking sculpt is my style. Love what they've done with Marvel. Hope they do the storytelling reliefs on the bases like the have with Marvel. This could be a real wallet punisher.

Personally, I'd love the opportunity to buy a variant that offered
- a more basic, smaller footprint, lighter base
- a cut & sew fabric cape

both of those to cut down on weight, as well as the size of the box. Though I suppose, if that ever were to happen, it would be more realistic that they would simply repurpose the same large box for both configurations.

I don't expect to be offered that option, but that's my wish.
The sculpted cape, and likely huge-ass base on this, are going to entail another Thor-sized, 90 lb box, and I just can't see warehousing another one of those.
Honestly, those are the considerations that makes the JND figures a more attractive proposition for me, despite the substantially higher $$$.

Which is kind of depressing, as this does look like it could be "The" definitive comic book Superman statue for a lot of us.
