This

If you are primarily concerned with ROI, commissions are NOT the way to go. Published art does much better in that regard.

Art is a hobby for me and enjoyment is my priority. I buy commissions and published art because I love both and get a ton of enjoyment out of the pieces. I don't buy either for ROI considerations.

I think the above is why the commission market sustains itself ... because people love getting an original piece of art drawn for them specifically. The ROI is not necessarily financial but more from an enjoyment and art appreciation perspective.

Maybe but maybe not. I think it will be a mixed bag of customer demand, especially at rising prices. As much as I don't appreciate small art, it seems apparent that others do and there will always be art available at every budget. More power to the small art collectors - I have seen some really nice smaller pieces.

I just prefer 11x17 or 11x14, so that you can get some detail in the art and actually be able to see it.
This (along with some OCD most likely) is why I like larger art ... art is about visual impact for me and you just don't get it on smaller pieces. Larger pieces have more impact and are more awe-inspiring.

Different strokes for all collectors and artists and, as always, YMMV.

I am very happy with this Scarlet Witch piece he did for me several years ago. I think if you dig his stuff it translates to both male and female characters.

Thanks for posting that MarvelCap. It is hard to find non-Harley images by Chris on the interwebs. It's all dudes or the totally crazy Ms. HQ. Your Scarlet Witch is lovely.

It is true, he does do lovely ladies. Storm, with her already white eyes, is kinda meant for him. Or Dark Phoenix could work.

I'm looking to just go all in and get the full body BTW. I like he size of the 9x12 for framing, but for the $90 more and the bigger paper, the full body seems the better deal.

My 5X7 commission just arrived! His style translated beautifully for the Rocketeer's helmet!

Honestly its a good size to display, I dont know for some reason I was expecting it as a little smaller, but I purposely chose a commission that would be able to show a lot of detail for the head.

I think it's worth a try before I go whole hog on a 11x17 female. Plus, at 5x7, I can put it in a picture frame and display it at work.

Let me see if he is still open for requests

Thanks for all your help!!
