Scranton Comic Book Convention.

Friday I received a flyer in the mail that there was a local convention on Sunday. I didn't have any plans so I decided to stop there and see if I could get a sketch. The show was small but I was really surprised with the number of people that turned out compared to other years. Anyway I did get a sketch from a local artist Tom Derenick who pencils Justice League for DC.

That must have been a nice little surprise. Some times those small cons offer the opportunity for some nice deals (or in this case a nice sketch)

Sept 2, 2001, (The week before 9/11) I was at this con because Chuck Dixon was a guest. I had Chuck sign several copies of BATMAN: VENGENCE OF BANE. I then said to Chuck, "I hope some day I have the chance to have Graham Nolan sign these as well." Chuck said "Why don't you turn around and ask him to sign them." Now that was an awesome surprise.
