Swimsuit specials?

Guys, can anybody tell me what the swimsuit specials of some comics are? for instance, aspen has a swimsuit special. Is it some kind of side story in which the swimsuit is actually functional or is it more an opportunity for the artists to draw nearly naked beautiful women?
