I just found the cat-zombie-like, mental breakdown origin too Burton-esque and at odds with the cunning and finesse of a cat burglar that I typically associate with Selina.
Plus, and it's probably a Burton thing mostly, the costume always made me think of Edward Scissorhands. That aside, I can't argue with the appeal of Pfeiffer as Catwoman though.

It was kind of weird that she was so hot while also being a zombie with nine lives. I suppose not as weird as a Penguin who oozed black goo, ran for Mayor, and tried to kidnap babies to drown them in toxic waste. What a fine film for 8 year old me.
