While the best is yet to come, I'm not sure there's enough of a buying public left to appreciate it all as edition numbers are getting smaller and smaller and more and more people don't seem as interested in purchasing their 12th Spiderman or Wolverine statue (seemingly regardless of how nice the sculpture is).

The hobby needs new blood. Perhaps as the next generation of collectors come in, we'll have that rebound. If it doesn't, it just doesn't seem to pay for sculptors to hang around too long and they have to make a living, perhaps in another more lucrative line of work.

Many of us didn't foresee having stacks of undisplayed statues boxes sitting in the basement. Speaking for myself, I can't stand that.

I've looked over my collection and decided to move about 25 statues over the summer to make room for this "new crop of product" coming in as some of it is simply outstanding.

All this to say that I'm speaking in general terms, not for those who are addicted to the process.

That's exactly how I feel....like a slave. Every time they announce a new piece or commission, I both rejoice and cringe.

For me it's about oversaturation of stuff. I collect all kinds of stuff, not just busts/statues: comics, hardcovers, trades, Transformers Binaltechs, Marvel Legends. There is just WAAAY too much great stuff from all kinds of companies all pulling at my wallet. Sometimes I feel like I should go into total shutdown mode. I guess that speaks to the industry in some way: Companies are really putting out quality stuff more and more each year.

This hobby needs the King (Randy Bowen) to stop producing Marvel... and go to DC... That would make this hobby explode... and you all know this to be true... stop denying it...
