Batman who Laughs Sideshow PFF vs Prime1's 1/3.How to tell if you have an "artsy" eye

This would be a controversial topic.

Many guys ask Forps "Hey, Forps how are you able to observe things in the sculpts, we can't? How are you able to instantly recognize whether a sculpt oozes a toyish vibe or if it has zero artistic direction? How can we tell if we,too, have an artsy eye?"

Well, my friends, do this simple test.

Put 2 photos of Batman who laughs PFF by Sideshow and Batman who laughs 1/3 by Prime 1, next to each other.

Or even put the sculpts (if you own them both) next to eachother.

I bet that 98% of you, if asked which is one is better? 98% of you, would answer (without hesitation also), Prime1.

You are fooled by SIZE, your eyes equal size to artistry.

Check Sideshow's PFF (with the enormous ES, i know).

Check the pose, check the sculpt, the paint, the finesse, check how refined it looks. It oozes ART.

Then check Prime1's. It is bigger, ok, but then the sculpt is ROUGH, the paint is "chubby", details are lost with too much application of paint. It looks like it was painted with a bucket of paint.

It looks rough, it looks rushed, it looks having 300 layers of paint on it ("chubby" paint), it has ZERO finesse, it is simply bigger.

Sideshow's Batman who Laughs is a MASTERPIECE.

His laughing pose, the sculpt, the details, the LIGHT application of paint, the INTRICATE application of paint (whereas Prime1's looks like it was thrown a bucket of black paint on it), the different colors, the artistic direction.

Sideshow's one is a MASTERPIECE. PERIOD. It is out of this world.

But i know that 98% of you will still prefer Prime1's getting fooled by the difference in scale (size).

So for the 2% of you, my fellow sophisticated collectors, yes, YOU, you are a part of an elite club in this hobby.

You have an "artsy" eye.

Welcome aboard!

Post a couple comparison pics Forps. Interested to see what you mean exactly. The Prime 1 1/3 proto looked sensational

There are plenty online. I also dont remember how to post photos.

Nevertheless, the argument was crystal clear.

Prime1's Batman who Laughs 1/3. It is bigger, ok, but then the sculpt is ROUGH, the paint is "chubby", details are lost with too much application of paint. It looks like it was painted with a bucket of paint.

If you belong to the 98% of guys liking Prime1's BWL, ok. Your eyes deceive you and you EQUAL SIZE TO ARTISTRY.

But if you are in the 2% minority, then welcome to the elite club of sophisticated collectors who are also art collectors and have an "artsy" eye. Welcome to Forps' ship! Welcome onboard!

I remember reading your posts while lurking Forps, they were always great.

I do believe the Sideshow statue is the better of the two, quite significantly.

Welcome to the official 2% of collectors who use their eyes to not only see or watch, but to observe, to examine, to analyze.

Prime1's 1/3 is simply bigger, nothing more.

Sideshow's is a MASTERPIECE in all aspects.

Welcome onboard, Yamato! Nice to have collectors with an "artsy" eye!
