I'm of Italian heritage.
Both parents born here.
My fathers parents were born in Italy, and both came here LEGALLY in 1918.
My mothers parents were born here. My great grandfather & mother (my grandmothers side) were born in Italy, and both came here LEGALLY in 1898.
My grandfathers, great-grandfather, came here in 1823. One of the first Itlanians in this great nation. He was probably a thief. I know he married an Iroquois woman and they had kiddies and were chased out of New York. Well this is what my grandfather told me.
My grandfather was in the Army for three days, and then WWI ended. He was sent to the Texas border, fell off his horse, broke his leg, and sent home.
he was a fisherman, so take that with a grain of salt, too.

Never been to Italy. Evil-Lyn won't fly over water. Maybe someday I'll get there. I would love to see all the old cities, Amsterdam, London, Rome, Paris, nah, skip Paris.

The Netherlands were with us in the Korean War.
"Ik zal handhaven" That's your motto."I shall stand fast".
My Pop's used to say it was "pretty neat" to see other guys in uniform, that weren't American, and fightin with us. I remember him saying that the Turk's were completely nuts, and didn't take prisoners.
Thanks, Google & Wikipedia!

Civil War movie...Glory...One of the greatest war movies ever made...Denzel Washington won the Academy Award for his performance...and well deserved...Also on the ACW movies...Gettysburg...The cannon scene alone is worth mentioning...
