Anyone going to Longbeach Comic Con this Saturday or Sunday?

I can't decide if I want to go or not. I only have $700 to really spend. I can think of a sketch I would want and one page. An hour drive, $15 in gas, $20 to park and after a sketch and a page that would be 1hour then what?????

I'll be there tomorrow for sure. I have a lifetime pass, so I'm always in at least for one day.

Convention was pretty weak as usual. I wanted one sketch but Amanda Conner was not doing sketches. There wasn't any original art to speak of. I did pick up a Spider-Woman Michael Turner print from Aspen.

I saw a bunch at 40% off. Amazon has them for almost 50% off so it wasn't a great deal in my opinion. But I'm glad you got some things you wanted.

I always talk myself out of going and it sounds like I didn't miss much.

I dug the show, but it didn't have the same vibe it had the last couple years. The show was more sparse, in both attendance, amount of creators and buyers, it seemed to me.

A lot of the big hitters from past shows weren't able to make it (Finch, Layton, etc.) and talking to some artists they actually had more business going on at the smaller Las Vegas show last month (which had a good load of A-level talent show up).

Lines for creators weren't long at all and I was able to get sigs and sketches from those I was waiting for.

Neal Adams did bump up his prices from what I remember from Comikazw LA. I remember if you bought a book from him you could get a quick sketch on it, I think around $50-$75. At LBCC minimum for a poster or book purchase with a quick side-profile sketch was $100.

Picked up a few moderns in the booths that were selling 50 cent and $1 books, rest were either silver/copper age or were selling 90s-modern glut for almost cover.

As said above, good place to get some HC/TPBs for 40%-70% off cover.
