The convention center where both will be held this year is about a 20 minute drive, all freeway, from our house. I bought our passes for Amazing the other day and that was a solid $200 (me, wife, both boys) so thats a fat chunk already. The Phoenixcon (bigger than Amazing) is usually over Memorial Day weekend so we get an extra day out of that one, probably another $200 admission (less photo ops).
Our family decided last summer to try and make it to ECCC or Heroes this year, but, we decided to hit up Albuquerque instead. Bob Shaw is bringing his whole crew to that one and there are a handful of other artists we are excited about seeing too. Also helps that I'm from there and my best friend owns a half dozen hotels, so our hotel costs will be covered. Lots of food to eat on that trip.
I'm really excited also because I got a new Canon T4i and GoPro for Christmas so this will be my first con with those!
