The response has been so bad, I’m tempted to see it.

Iron Man 3 (2013) - When Tony Stark's world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution.

Other than the Mandarin fake-out, I don't understand why this movie wasn't well-received here. Or perhaps I'm just appreciating Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark more in light of recent events. 7/10

What a coincidence that both DC's and Marvel's Christmas movies have a scene with microwaving a metal object near an open gas line as a means to blow up a store.

And here I thought I was nearly the only person that liked this movie. Good to hear. Was it a great movie? No.
Was it an entertaining movie that stepped out of the series mold? Yup! This one was character driven and not just a guy smashing stuff while wearing an armored suit. RDJ got to flesh out Stark a bit and seemed to relish it. Plus, you can't go wrong with witty repartee written by Shane Black. Okay, so even that couldn't save "The Predator" (but even it had a few decent deliveries).

Continuing my Christmas movie marathon:

In Bruges (2008) - Guilt-stricken after a job gone wrong, hitman Ray and his partner await orders from their ruthless boss in Bruges, Belgium, the last place in the world Ray wants to be.

Refreshingly irreverent. I laugh out load every time I watch it. 10/10

The new trilogy has perfectly fine visuals, acting, and sound. The story is not great.
