It's interesting to see that the Yamato 1:4 scale model has just started to appear as one of those Thai resin kits available through at least one of the usual suspects on E-Bay. Doesn't take long. [Sigh]

Regards,

Richard.

Not sure why someone would want that. You might as well just buy the statue. I don't get how these recasters get away with these kits.

They normally justify the recast as being a hobby alternative, basically, if you like the figure but want to do your own paint job.

What's annoying about this idea, is that I believe there IS a niche market for kit versions of some of these statues, especially Sideshow, but these mainstream companies refuse to entertain the idea. Most likely because of the filthy recasters!!!!

Not everyone knows that it is a recast , when I first started getting involved in making resin models , I purchased a few before I worked out that it was a copy

The company Volks used to make kits of the Sorayama figures that they used to sell as a completed figure

Strangely enough I had no idea originally that there was a company like Yamato, and found the re-casters first. Then, when I finally accepted my painting skills were inadequate, I looked for ready painted versions and belatedly found the original.

Regards,

Richard

99.999996% of the time, if it is from Taiwan, it is a recast. Typically made of low , questionable grade resin.
