What lights for detolfs

HI All,

A few days ago i recieved my detolf units. I am very happy with them as they look great. I know they have a light opening but i dont know what light to use.

Can anyone please help me out in this?

I'd suggest the DIODER from Ikea.

They give a cool white light and next to no heat emission.

The Dioder looks nice. How do you mount it to the Detolf shelves?

Each diode has a sticker so they can be squeezed to the "roof" of each shelve.

Thats awesome. Here's a question. Lets say I have to Detolf. Do I need a light for each shelf since the shelves are made of glass?

Would it be best to put on at the very top? Or put on on each shelf?

There are many ways to go about it.

There are 4 diodes in a pack.
Actually, I use only one pack to light up two Detolfs.
This is because I display Premium Format statues in them, and therefore I have taken out two shelves in each Detolf (leaving only one shelf in the middle of each).

In this setup, I have placed one diode in the top, and one in the middle (underneath the single shelf) -- of each Detolf.

I would suggest placing a diode under each shelf. To light up each section. This would give an equal attention to all the displayed figures. I could imagine, in a 4x shelf setup, and you only use light in top and middle that the sections that do not have their own diode will seem "lazy" or "dull".

I am heading to Ikea this weekend to pick up the Detolf shelves. (8 of them) As well as the lights!!
