A Star is Born - 5/10

Man I didn’t find anything special about this film. Very predictable. The unnecessary time jumps hurt the character development and lessened the impact of moments that should’ve resonated more. At the very least I expected the music to be something special, but unfortunately it wasn’t. I love Cooper as an actor and Gaga is unquestionably talented but A Star is Born simply tries too hard. Very little of it felt genuine to me.

The first IM just doesn’t hold up for me. Winter Soldier has held up since it was released. I loved Infinity War and Civil War, but still put Winter Soldier above them both.

John Wick 3 - 9/10

The best so far, as far as I'm concerned. Violence as art & I've never seen better. The dogs in the film are Belgian Malinois which is the breed I have had for my last 2 dogs. I love them & to see them perform so magnificently in this movie, just blew me away. My appreciation for Wick started as a slow burn, but as I've re-watched the 1st 2 several times now & have now seen the 3rd, I'm very impressed with modern action film making. As long as the Director & Keanu stay w/ this series .... I'm In!

John Wick 3 - BETTER THAN ENDGAME

I'm going again tomorrow (IMAX) and then Sunday (either RPX or 4DX). Non-stop action, great fight choreography and Halle Berry and the two Belgian Malinois steal the show.

I downloaded the soundtrack as soon as I got home from the theater. The music made such an impression on me that I also downloaded Lady Gaga's previous album, Joanne--which to me sounded like something her character in the movie would release. I had never listened to any Lady Gaga album prior to that, but those two records at least won me over.
