How do you remove clear gloss ?

Not sure if this is the right section to post this or not but there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people on this board so i thought id ask anyway, here's my dilemma i put some clear gloss onto a statue to get a "wet look" but now i regret it, is there any way to get the gloss off without taking the paint off as well ?

It was just one coating.

Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

nope can't

only thing you can do now is try to dull it down.

http://www.garagekitsuscolors.com

makes a flat cote you can put thru a airbrush and it will dull down paints big time but to much will make it cloudy.

That or repaint over that gloss with the original paint.

I second what Vincey said; dull it down with some flat top coat; Testors Dullcote, Windsor and Newton Flat Varnish etc etc

A heat gun may work

Another way would be applying paint strippers and solvents
Read directions and precautions on the container
These chemicals are unpleasant and should be done in a well ventilated area
