Because the statues are exactly the same.

If you sell one later and the text is not corresponding you can just alter it with blackmarker. Protection during shipping is all it has to do (because there is no artwork). Some storage space saved
I'm going to wait a bit and if I do decide to keep all 3 then all 3 shipping boxes are going into the recycling bin. They are just too big and too dirty to hang onto. One of them has a big hole punched in the side (shipping damage) and the interior styrafoam is smashed and crumbling, so yeah...no I'm not going to be hanging onto that.

And honestly, shouldn't PCS be offering a small refund? When these were offered they were still doing boxes. They announced they were pulling boxes after everyone had pre-ordered. Bait and switch move. They did it as a cost saving measure, but the cost of the box was already factored into the price on this piece. I was on the fence when I ordered these, but went ahead and did it. Had I known there would be no box that would have been just enough to sway me to decide not to buy

Maybe. They would probably offer a small refund in the form of points.
Really, they should decide on the amount of points, and add those points to everyone's account.

Premium product should come in a premium box, even if the box stays in storage. I just don’t see PCS passing on savings, like all things that reduce in quality, I think this is a form of shrinkflation.

Also, the outer shipper would normally protect the inner art box when stored esp if storing boxes in a humid storage environment (garages often don’t have good weather sealing what with roller doors and so on).

But yeah, I'd rather have a box, for practical reasons, than the print for sure
No I mean if they still double boxed the statues but neither box was a printed artbox.

I like the extra boxing but prefer not to have delicate print work to worry about messing up on a box that is so prone to dents & dings.

PCS had to cut costs somewhere to be able to afford to pay Radd Titan to shill for them.

Personally, I don't care about art on the box honestly, just want a box solely to protect the clamshell from shelf damage, and to house the title sheet. As it stands, there's nowhere to put that title sheet for F's sakes. It could be a plain white box for all I care, with the only printing on it being words telling you what's inside. But I'm sure comic shop owners want that art box to have out on their shelves displayed to attract attention. And even if they just keep them in the back, how are they supposed to deal with storing stacks of multiple fragile clamshells? and packing them around to and from comic shows without damaging them? What a headache. They're eventually going to end up all chipped and cracked lol, and no customer will want to buy them when they see how F'd up the packaging it is, unless at a discount. "uhhhh no thanks" is what they'll be hearing.

This whole no-box thing is the dumbest most short-sighted move. And don't even get me started on that ridiculous propaganda video they put out framing the whole thing as them doing us a favor

you would, if you bought one of these at a con and had to cart it around and try and figure out how you were going to get it home without the clamshell busting apart on you or the flimsy velcro straps failing while walking around the city back to the hotel after the con or on the bus or subway ride home etc etc
