Ooh ok. Well, you know, you could go for a Vampirella now, and Lara later. Remember the Lara EX is only a print. Do you really need the Lara EX's print?

At least Vampi's EX is the print and the phenomenally sexy EX head.

Here's two auctions you could check out:

Vampirella, definitely.
My advice is to go with what character you like more. I have been a huge Vampirella fan for a long time (15+years), so of course I am going to have more appreciation for her over Lara. You can tell there was a lot more concern for the production of this piece over the other PF lines like Marvel. Vampirella makes the Marvel pieces look poor. She was wrapped extremely well. I have never seen a piece packaged this well. They have a glossy coated paper under her suit, to prevent it from rubbing while in transit. Every piece is wrapped in a wax-like paper and all the small breakable pieces are also wrapped in blue foam.

The only aspect of Vampirella I don't like is that you have to assemble the base. There are so many pieces to take into account. But if this prevents breakage issues, fine.

Hopefully the quality of Lara and Vampirella are a new trend for Sideshow. Especially with the prices we now pay.

Can you image how amazing the Marvel PFs would be if Sideshow put this amount of work into them? Put them on some Sentinel pieces and put them in better poses. Ugh, that would be awesome.

Who cares? Why does the discussion always have to end up talking about the ES?

If you like it and like the character, buy it. If you don't, don't. We are not discussing where to invest your money for retirement, we are talking about a statue of a character you (or your wife) are interested in.

Darth Talon was 650 and 1500. Good luck finding one of those for a good price.

You could argue that Vampirella is a lot more popular than Darth Talon.
