i prefer it to not light up - im sure it would end up looking more bulky, be heavier causing potential leaning issues with the cards and cost more

Agreed and no one ever uses them more than once or twice. Then they go out after a year or two most times.

That is what worries me about lights. I’ve seen collectors say “oh they do t fail” or it takes a million years to fail...naw, I’d rather do without until they have changeable bulbs or LEDs or something else that makes sense.
