It's s strange choice. I don't know anything about painting statues but I would have thought the design on the original wouldn't be that hard to duplicate.

He definitely looks better in person than in the pictures. Saying that your pictures look good though.

That looks really good, T1000! I have that statue myself and really do love the piece. The online pictures don't do the main portrait justice and at times it looks like they were taken with a filter app. A lot of the details are washed out in the pictures I've seen.

The only ones that I've seen that captured how great the main portrait looks were kermitt3's. They are no longer in this thread but I am guessing that he used a high resolution camera.

It's pretty cool that WETA let you keep the previous statue. I do like what you did with it. Have you thought of painting the eyes red on one of your main portraits so that you can have a better heat vision portrait than the one that was included?

The person who painted these for me is a professional statue painter and he commented on the portrait looking good.

To be fair I don't think they wanted me to keep the original. They asked me to smash it up or deface it and send them proof so it couldn't be resold. Whereas with Sideshow I had to smash it up (which purely out of interest I attempted to piece back together). Maybe deface is a health and safety thing.

I hadn't thought of that. Might give it a try in he new year. Might even put LED's in one.
