I have posted up pieces of my Batman art in their gallery. so I was lookin thru their gallery and found... an exactly duplicate of a piece I commissioned Frank Brunner to do for me back in 08. WTF did he do mine then light box it for them??? It seems lots of big name artists send them art for FREE???

wow, it is exactly the same. If he was going to give the art, you would think he would at least made a few changes to the piece.

wow....total disappointment. Kinda of takes the point right out of forking out for a commission. I can understand you being upset on this one. I think it would take away from the enjoyment of the piece for me also...

Are you sure he sent them an original? The lines look IDENTICAL. Even the little ones and the way the shading is structured. Maybe he just photoshopped out the dedication to you and sent them a print?

I love Frank and his work but got into a dust up with him at NYCC a ways back. I told him about a commission he did for and he mentioned he had the prelim of it on him and pointed to a book of stuff for sale. I got bent out of shape and asked if he was planning on selling my prelim and he just changed the subject. Seemed kind of shady.

That's kind of a strange thing for an artist to do.

Yours looks a little more polished but the other seems better than a prelim. I had Frank do a commission for me and whilst I was very happy with it I was surprised to see someone post the prelim on ebay as an original commission. I contacted the seller and he said he hadn't been aware when he had purchased from it that it was a prelim. I have also since seen that the character pose in my commission was duplicated in a multiple character commission.

Agreed, even if it was light tabled that is to closely duplicated. It looks like an exact copy of the piece. I couldn't imagine there being two penciled versions of this piece. In any case it seems like a sucky thing to do. Sorry man.
