They've seen how much their competitors' prices have increased recently
Unfortunately the quality of their prototypes need to match their price

I agree. For $500 I'd be tempted, for $1000 I cannot justify it.

Hasn’t it been a few years since most 1/4 scale pieces were priced at or below $500 USD?
Though I would hope this piece is priced at or below $800 USD.

Yeah you can't get much for $500 any more, quarter scale wise
I think that's why I pre ordered the museum line batman and superman from Queen, I couldn't say no for that price!

There are some currently out for roughly that (SS 1:4 Ahsoka is $565), but yes it is becoming rare. That is where I personally value an IS 1:4 based on some past pieces. They have priced some much higher than I expected, so reset my expectations accordingly to no longer be shocked.

I’m not really ever shocked by prices anymore. When I first started collecting statues 5 or so years ago I could score Sideshow pieces for about $500 AUD, but now they’re literally double that at $1,000 AUD from my local retailer here in Australia. In that time Sideshow pieces have gone from $400 USD to what they’re are now. Unfortunately the greater price price movement for me is probably due to a falling exchange rate etc. Heck if I were to import directly from Sideshow it’s significantly more. As shipping, taxes and duties really do add up.

They need to be careful pricing this one. Mando & Grogu was $749 with a larger base and the pram with Grogu. Ahsoka has a smaller base and it's just her. As others have said, the Sideshow Ahsoka is $585/$565. If they ask $1000 for this piece, I think they're going to have trouble convincing collectors to buy. I'm guessing it will be $749-$799.

At price parity I'd go Sideshow easily.

I still worry that the Star Wars Rebels based Sideshow piece might not match well with my Iron Studios Mando & Grogu.

I would buy according to what you’re trying to represent. If it’s Ahsoka from Mandalorian, then I would go with Iron Studios; but if it’s Clone Wars or Rebels then Sideshow would be better.
