There’s a Nakoruru on preorder before this Ukyo by the same studio. Not sure if anyone here is getting that also.

I thought about Nakoruru. (She's my third favorite character)

Unlike Ukyo, I absolutely love the base on Nakoruru's. The water effect and the gold fish are amazing. Here are my pros and cons

+ Details on the Hawk
+ Water Effects
+ Base
+ Goldfish
+ Pose

- Not sure if its me, but the portrait looks off
- I don't like the shoes
- What is she holding? A robe? Rather see her use her blade

I think PIJI went with the Samurai Shodown II (1994) game look for Nakoruru (based on license). But maybe a bit too far. Shoes follow the in game look. And robe was used as an attack in that game also.

It is the main 1/4 licensed statue I know of, as the other 2 up for preorder are 1/6 but based on the Samurai Shodown reboot. Sadly those 1/6 ones by Revive and Shuhiko also look a bit weird. Not sure why PIJI didn't go with the reboot license instead.

I was originally hopeful of their Nakoruru turning out nice too, but held off after seeing the promo images (mostly from the portrait). Still am waiting on updates for whether not they will improve the head. The unpainted prototype face looked quite nice though IMO. For some reason the eyes and mouth were changed.

If the portrait is improved, I'll consider Nakoruru, especially since I'm getting Ukyo.

Thing is, there were better poses PIJI could have selected.

If could choose, she'd be commanding (pointing) for her falcon to attack while reaching for her sword.

Heard this is shipping soon...

Wonder what more we'll get from this line? I've got this coming, but I'd rather someone do a line based on the recent reboot...

It's a huge piece, very impressive and captures Ukyo very well!

I'm not doing reviews anymore but still posting shorts on my channel.

Looks super sharp! That's some serious base with that statue though.

Cool statue. Way too big for my taste, but captures him perfectly.
