Nothing beats custom IMO.

Yeah, same here. It helps a bunch. I also have a decent air purifier with a negative ionizer that is supposed to take the sticking power out of dust so it just blows off easily for the Roomba to pick up. Seems to work pretty well. Dust is a b!tch.

Mine is between meh and ok. I normally hit the corners before the Roomba is set loose. That way she can pick it up easier.

That works quite well with the long bristles.
But, I take the corners with the "normal" vacuum cleaner once a week.
The advantage is that you can always run the robot.
Before we had the robot, a room was vacuumed once a week. Now a room is vacuumed every two days. And my statue room is vacuumed every night.
It's really cleaner and we have more free time.

How much less should I shoot for? I don't want to annoy the cabinet maker to the point where they are insulted, but I don't want to be taken for a ride either.
It's an Amish furniture maker if that make any difference.
[QUOTE=Tbolt; For me, curio cabinets hide too much of what you are displaying. I’d be more inclined to have a build in constructed.[/QUOTE]
Also, I'm not familiar with a build in constructed, how would that work?

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

There are curios specifically made for corners. Some nice ones.

Maybe that justifies the pricing. I have 2 similiar in size, Pulaski not custom. I paid 700 a piece.

thanks, im happy with how they turned out. cost wise i think everything came out to be around what a pax would set you back but these are just more labor intensive (especially if you stain the blocks and paint the pipes)

I assume I could get something like this cut for a Muscle rack couldn't I? I don't mind the original boards that come with those shelves but those butcher blocks look so much sweeter.

Since someone mentioned curio cabinets - this is what I bought some years back:
It's by Henredon, part of the Grand Provenance line (discontinued, I think). It was sort of on sale. I have no idea what's being reflected in the mirrors at the back - it's certainly not my home. -)
I don't use it for my PFs - I'm not sure of the weight capacity of the glass shelves. I use it for plastic and resin figure model buildups. It's almost as pretty as some of my models; the color scheme doesn't really fit my room, but I think it's great!

You are lucky ljspiper, that looks amazing.
Your traditional Curio Cabinet really isn't really built to hold anything more then 25 pounds a shelf.
I could go with a smaller setups. 2 Curios 30"W x 20"D x 80"H would only cost me about 1400 before taxes.
However, it would waste 20 inches of space because they could only hold 2 PFs per shelf and I wouldn't have the option to put PFs on the top of the cabinet based on my ceilings height.
My goal is one Display that can hold the majority of my collection, with the help of my existing glass table.

Yeah, that does look nice. I think that (or something like it) would make a good display for the run of DC Bombshells I've got.
