newbie needs help :)

I bought a Goro resin kit, and this will be my first attempt to build/paint a statue. I want to get good at creating these, and have them look professional. Any advice would be appreciated.

this is the exact figure I bought, incase anyone wants to see it:

and this is the equiptment that i have so far:
NEW Badger Sotar 20/20 Detail Airbrush:

and
Airbrush City™ Mini Airbrush Compressor with AUTO ON/OFF

I hope i made some good choices. Anyone want to recomend the type of paint i should go with? thanks

Looks like you got a recast. Nice piece, but not from the original maker.

Anyway, your question revolves around paints and equipment. Not familiar w/ your compressor, but the airbrush is one of the better ones for sure. As for paints, I would recommend Freestyle, Golden, ComArt or FW inks. They are all airbrush ready and do not need to be thinned to spray. If you've never used an airbrush before they will take a little getting used to, but they are the best out there right now.

You're also going to need LOTS of putty to properly assemble this piece. Recommend you get some Aves expoxy putty from here: http://wwwavesstudio.com You're also going to need a drill and some coat hanger wire or brass tube to pin all the arms and other pieces into place for added strength.

Let me ask this....is this your first kit?
