The best way I have ever heard someone describe their feelings about Evangelion was "I didn't like it when I watched it but I couldn't stop thinking about". To me that sums it up.

All opinions. I?d have to watch the rebuilds to to have one for myself. But I genuinely enjoyed the original series while watching it. Except the last 2 episodes. The last 2 episodes are the equivalent of Game of Thrones Season 8 before there was a GoT S8 in that they dropped the ball. End of Evangelion is a head trip, though, and I had to look up what the hell happened, but I?m fine with that ending as opposed to the series ending.
