Buying doubles of a statue

Was curious if anyone has ever bought two statues of the same exact model just because you liked it that much.

I'm not talking about buying a statue multiple times due to different versions of it, but rather doubles of it, so you can display one and keep the other in its box, or if you want to have them both displayed in different rooms.

Never did this myself, but if the "perfect" Batman statue ever came out, I would think about it.

One to rock, one to stock. I haven't done it, to my recollection, but I'm with H on this. If the perfect whatever came along, I'd think about it. Especially if I might have to pay up for it down the road.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

off topic but similar in nature

with regards to Soul Of Chogokin diecast premium Robots toys

the Hong Kong souls are very serious about their Soul Of Chogokin Toy Collecting.

they would buy 3 of each item

the thinking goes like this.

1 to play with
1 for display
1 to be kept in storage Mint in Sealed Box

the lesser motals would buy 2 of each item

1 to play with
1 to be kept in storage Mint in Sealed Box

I take it statues collectors follow these precepts as well

You could display front and back view. However, no... I wouldn't buy doubles.

I have only done it once, with Red Sonja: She Devil with a Sword, and I only did it because I am having the 2nd one painted differently. Investment plays no role in my statue hobby so I would never buy more than 1 of a statue just for the sake of having 2. I just don't see the point unless one is looking at it as an investment or wants to create a custom version of a particular statue. I would MUCH rather take that money and buy a different statue that I wanted. So no, I have never purchased more than 1 of a statue just for the sake of having more than 1 and I never would.

I bought a double of the EX Power Girl PF by mistake. I was on a wait list for it and a friend of mine decided he no longer wanted his. I told him to keep his and I would buy it from him and then cancel my wait list......and I forgot. It went up for final charge while I was on vacation and never saw the email. So now I have 2. LOL
