Okey Dokey.

Just a thought - if they were $50 at SWS, the cost on them is probably
$15 to $25 each at most for retailers, so that is some good % profit at
$71 each for the seller. All figures are total guesstimates of course.

I don't mind people making $ by selling/flipping/Ebaying at all - Heck! look at my username.
Just if a retailer does that, it seems a bit "off" to me. That's all - no big deal.

well.. think about this.. FP was the UK exclusive retailer. This guy bought them form him maybe at retail. At most they gave this guy 20% off. After shipping to him, and listing fees... he's probably making 2.00 a bust.

The above post was what I was going by.
If he is a retailer, then he gets them at wholesale.

Next observation - I wonder how many people truly want this bust because
they love it, and how many want it more (or just because) it is gone now.
The old "want what you can't have" thing. I've been guilty of that for sure.

Again, Forbidden Planet is NOT the UK exclusive dealer. This guy is a genuine UK dealer who received an allocation of 200 busts. He raised the price over UK retail approximately ~$4.00 or so a bust to cover Paypal/Listing fees. End of story.

ok buys i have a statement here from the owner of giant toys and hes asked me to post on his behalf as he hasnt joined this forum as yet:heres what he mailed me and asked to put up for you..

FROM GIANT TOYS:
Hi Everyone,

I'm Dean and I own Giant Toys. I thought I would put some things straight about these C-3PO busts.

Forbidden Planet were not the 'Exclusive UK Distributor' for this item. I had my email from the UK GG distributor (who supplies FP and myself) last Tuesday night about ordering these. I ordered 200 and had an email within 2 minutes telling me they'd do the best they can as only 500 had been allocated to the UK. I doubt at 8pm in the evening FP were even at work to get their email so I was probably the first person to order. The retail price I was told to sell them for was £39.99. FP can probably afford to sell them at £36.99 as they have many other things they sell. At present I only sell Star Wars items by GG, MR and Code 3 (and some Hasbro).

Also, you're right, this does breach the eBay 30 day pre-sell rule but I hope I'm giving people the chance to get these at retail price now, rather than pay more later. Also, I wasn't too sure about selling more than 50 that's why I only done 50 to begin with. I have put another 50 on eBay but this will be it until they are actually released. I feel I will get a least 100 of what I have ordered.

I'm not in this to screw people. I have just put some Yoda ESB busts on eBay for £29.99 (the RRP was £36.99), and after eBay fees I'm not making anything. I'm sure no one will mention that on any forums!!! I think everyone needs to think more before they assume things and put up posts against retailers. I do read these things and sometimes wonder if it's all worth it.

Thanks,
Dean.
