Sealing/Clear Coats?

So I have some statues that I am wanting to preserve the paint as best I can

What are the best ways to seal a statue while changing the look of the paint as little as possible?

For example I just got the re-release of Kotobukiya's Batgirl. It still has the sticky gold paint that was on the original. It leaves fingerprints when touched.

So I am wanting to cover it with something in hopes of correcting this. Anyone have any advice? I have heard Vince-Vell mention sealing in some videos but I do not know his process.

Thanks for the help.

Honestly i don't know how any clears will react to a PVC painted statue.

Testors flat cote or gloss will prob melt the PVC and react to it big time, but thats my guess.

Only thing i can think to seal is Future Floor polish thru a airbrush, but that will gloss it up. But if the statue warps over time and starts to bend due to PVC that future may crack up.

Garagekit Colors has a nice flat cote sealant that could dull the gloss on the item but stop if from being tacky.

This is all guess tho since PVC is a whole other beast from Resin.
