I really think the NFL union learned from the huge mistakes the NBA made and are going to get a great deal out of this.

new proposed rule.
kickoff will now be from the 35 instead of 30 and the ball will be taken out to the 25 instead of 20 for touchbacks.
this is pretty dumb. you can all but forget about seeing returns anymore

goodbye awesome kick returns
kickoffs are now the 35 and touchbacks are still the 20
more bs lets stop the injuries rules. so does c-bass even need to kick anymore or can the raiders just opt for the 20 yard line every time and keep possible hamstring inuroes down

This is why it's ridiculous to compare players from different eras. Rule changes have drastic affects on how the game is played.

I truly do not understand the NFL sometimes. Have they never heard of building a better mousetrap? It seems like they just need to feel like they are doing something. This is the last thing that needed changing. Safety??!??!? How about protecting the legs of defensive players against cut blocks? Or protecting defensive players who are trying to make a clean tackle but get blasted by a running back who ducks his head? Or getting rid of the ridiculous penalties for brushing a fingertip againts a QB's facemask?
As adee said earlier they sure know how to ruin a good thing.
