Liquid Testors Dullcote?
Hey guys,
Like many people out there, I'm extremely happy with Testors Dullcote.
The only downside is that it's expensive here in France and I can't help but think that I waste a lot of product because of the rattle cans.
I saw dullcote came in bottles too. Is it exactly the same thing? Can I paint over it as well? That's one of the main things I find great about testors.
If anyone ever tried it, please let me know what you think!

I thin it down with alcohol and spray it through my airbrush, as well as with the glosscote

Thanks Jorge
Can you paint over it too? Will paint adhere?

I usually only use testors dc for the last finish since it can be costly, I typically use other larger cheaper matte finish sprays I think krylon, for sealing other layers. Saves me a decent amount, was going through testors way too quick and I kept buying out the stock at my hobby stores near my area so sometimes hard to get

Thanks for the info, guys
I gave Mr Hobby's Top Coat and Mr Super Clear a try and they work great. A tad more expensive than dc but easier to find here in Paris

i agree....but the krylon leaves a sheen its not as mattte as dull coat.. so just keep using the dull coat. i have to say about testors dc you have to shake the can for about 2 mins before spraying and lite mists at a time from about 10 to 12 inches away...imo if you do not shake the can alot and spray it sometimes can leave a frost effect...if this happens let dry chake can alot then spray again...when i buy them i get 3 at a time....wish they made a bigger can

I only use the krylon to seal work, like after shading, not as the last final coat, it helps save on using so much dc.

I think dark_spidey is talking about this dullcote from testors.
I just picked up a couple bottles. they run about $4 each and last a long time. i think the sealed about 6-7 kits with the last bottle i had, and that's with inbetween layers.

So guys, help me out here....I've always used testors to paint all of my model kits. When I've inquired about a matt spray or sealer my local model shop tells me that I don't need to seal it because the paint is enamel. They also tell me I run the risk of the sealer cracking. Advice, opinions??
