Fist of the North Star for PS2

Here is a semi-new ps2 game in Japan. A 2D fighter based on Fist of the North Star. The same guys who did the Guilty Gear series, did this game, so anyone who has played the GG games, knows this will be awesome. The only problem is there are no plans to bring it to the U.S. Start emailing Sega and asking for this game to come over here so we can all play the 2D goodness of FotNS.

Here is a link for some screen shots and a little more info on the game.

You should ask how many people here know Fist of The North Star first...

Anyone who considers themselves an anime fan, and don't know what Fist of the North Star is, should be ashamed of themselves.

Then tons of anime fans out there should be shamed of themselves...

I don't think the Fist of North Star is as wide-spreading as some other anime like EVA, Samurai 7 and so forth.

The old TV series wasn't that good but hell that's THE BEST comics I've ever had in my whole life.
It's sooooooo good that I still read it on daily basis.

And they're making some new OVA out of the original comic, very well done.

FotNS was an anime that made the jump in the early 80's when anime had a tiny niche audience compared to the huge mainstream push that it has now. It was the one of the first animes that I watched along with the first Vampire Hunter D and Akira. The old TV series was sub par compared to the movie though, I do agree on that. The new OVA that came out of FotNS several years back was pretty good though.

ah...
I believe you are talking about " New FONS ", which is a 3-episode story that came out a few years back, which continue to talk about Kenshiro's journey after the manga ended.

The one I mentioned above is a new OVA series started at late 2006 in Japan,
which will consist of five 90 minutes movies.

unlike " New FONS ", which tells new stories,
these five movies are going to retell the classic- the story of the original manga.

I already saw 2 of them, like I said, they are pretty well done
but they tweak the story a little bit. only at minor scenes , tough...
doesn't affect the overall awesomeness
you can pretty much treat it like a modern version of FONS

no offical info yet,
but I believe some companies will get the license of those five movies.
