Help with custom painting Kotobukiya Batman
hi guys!
im new to the painter's pit stop, and was wondering if any of you guys could help!
i love kotobukiya's batman ARTFX comic vinyl statue, but i much prefer batman in black and grey than in blue and grey, i think its more dark and intimidating. so i was thinking of buying the statue and just painting all the blue parts black.
does anybody have any tips on preparation or coating or finishing etc? plus are there any types of paint i should avoid that might be damaging to the vinyl?
thanks

Acrylic paint would do just fine. After you complete the paint job, seal it with Testor's Dullcoat if you want a super matte finish or you can you any other clear protective spray on it.

For a professional looking finish, I would use air brush. As far as using paint brush, most likely you would leave brush strokes on this and make it look "mucking up". Practice with brush on a smooth plastic cup and see if you can achieve the type of finish you are look for, before paint this vinyl Batman.

I'm not sure, but the head and cape part is glued on to the body, for best results you should separate them.
Make sure you clean it good before painting.
For the large areas, spraycans do fine.

if you are going to brush paint, try out model masters acryl paints. I used these on a couple busts I built and hand brushed everything, they came out great. my favorite brush-on paints thus far. just gotta practice your brush technique and have a good paint. they dont have a big selection of flat colors but you can always just spray a dull coat over the gloss when done.
