The Long, Long Trailer (1954) - Nicky and Tacy are going to be married. Nicky wants to save up money for a house, but Tacy dreams of starting off with their own home on wheels--a trailer.

It's essentially a movie-length episode of the I Love Lucy show and succeeds for the most part. I liked this a little more the second time. 6/10

Drive-Away Dolls (2024) - Jamie regrets her breakup with her girlfriend, while Marian needs to relax. In search of a fresh start, they embark on an unexpected road trip to Tallahassee. Things quickly go awry when they cross paths with a group of inept criminals.

I had high hopes for this movie, but the short run-time makes little use of the interesting and well-cast secondary characters. I would have preferred to have seen more of them. 6.5/10

Civil War (2024) - A journey across a dystopian future America, following a team of military-embedded journalists as they race against time to reach DC before rebel factions descend upon the White House.

I attended an IMAX screening and was very impressed with the sound mix more than anything else. The ending was predictable in terms of character dynamics, but I still found the movie thrilling and very enjoyable. Strangely, despite the movie being purposely apolitical, it's still apparently controversial enough, generating quite a few negative reviews. Oh well, not from me. 8.5/10

Malevil 7/10

Watched this during Obscure Movie Night with my buddies. I knew going into it that it was post apocalyptic and make in the early 80's but I was pleasantly surprised since it wasn't a Mad Max wanna be movie. I'll be checking out the book later since this is one that book fans like to hate on a little bit. The author of the book wanted his name removed from the movie since it deviated from his story so much.

Rebel Moon: Scargiver - 6/10.

Zack Snyder has provided to me the best comic book film adaptations w/Watchmen, 300, MOS, BVS (Ultimate), and ZSJL. Multiple rewatching of each one. And I am not a Marvel hater, I have watched and enjoyed most of the Marvel film and tv releases, minus the last couple of years.

Snyder’s foray post-DC has been average. I will watch the Director’s cut of each Rebel Moon, but the whole Netflix release process (PG13 and later Director’s cut) is just dumb. There are clear moments in Scargiver where scenes abruptly begin or end. And Zack, chill on the slo-mo. I love the stylization, but use in smaller doses.

Maybe there is redemption in the Director cuts, but I find myself still fantasizing that unrealized battle between Snyder’s Superman and Darkseid.

Man of Steel was ok, i have my big issue with it. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was just garbage... I got bored out of my mind in the first half, almost left the theather. It was mostly just people chit chating around the whole film... Martha... lol But ZSJL was awesome, my favorite super hero film ever and i am not even a Justice League guy... But i have never enjoyed a super hero film this much before, so i would actually like to see Snyder complete his DCEU Quintet, but that ship has sailed.

Definitely to each our own when it comes to various forms of entertainment and art. I shake my head when it comes to the flaming social media battles between Snyder fans versus anti-Snyder fans. Liking his films is okay. Not liking his films is also okay.

Glad you enjoyed ZSJL. Yeah, the ship has sailed, most notably the actors getting older?although, getting them back together for a Kingdom Come adaptation?hmm

Without spoilers, yes, I found it better than the first one. I don?t think a real assessment will be made until viewing the director cuts, so congrats to Netflix and Snyder for ?making? me watch four times.
