Moving Out!
I have my e-mail, my 360 and my internet at my mom's apartment.
Now I have an apartment of my own.
I will be getting my own internet access wich means new IP address and new e-mail.
So here is the big question.
Can I take my 360 with me?
Won't it fudge up because it's not the same IP adress anymore when I have to play online?

I think we were all shocked that you still live at home with your mom.

Cool.
That's good to know.
Am I good with just an internet connection, a router and a 360?
Can it work without a PC?
The PC is my moms.

All you need is a router and 360
why wouldn't your email work tho? you can access any email anywhere so that won't matter.
You don't need a PC to make a router work, you only need a PC to set up passwords in the router if you are gonna use wireless with a password.
Like my Apple router, its got a password set up in it, if i took it from my house to your house, same password is in it until i reset it.
Same goes for 360, you can bring it anywhere and it will connect. All you need to know if your account password to play online in your 360 account.

Great!
Thank you so much for the information.
No problem there with wireless since I use wires all the way.

My e-mail won't work because I don't have one of those google or yahoo mails.
I tried the thing today with Xbox 360 and router only. It did not work.
What I did was take an ethernet cable plug it into the internet source and (An internet socket in the wall) and the other end of the ethernet cable into the router in the part that says "wan". Then another ethernet cable into my Xbox 360 and the other end of that cable intothe socket that just says "1"?
Is this not how it's supposed to be done?

All joking aside...Didn't you get a Cable Modem when they hooked you up? If not What is the "Wall" port hooked up to? You have to have the Signal converted somehow. This is Usually done by the Modem.
Also you should see lights blinking on the router where you plugged into the Wan port.
2 lights to be exact. 1 Blinking and 1 steady..That will also tell you you are connected.
