I think Blob gets the short end of the stick with his powers because he is treated like a perennial henchmen. His power set ought to be amazing, but I think the unspoken rule is that he cannot be too difficult because he is treated as a throwaway ‘red shirt’ villain. As such, his immovability has limits.
Some of the comics have written that there is a focus/will component to his power’s effectiveness, but because he isn’t that bright there is a limit to what he accomplishes.
Blob is usually defeated either through either taking a hit to the head to break his thin mental hold over his powers or the ground under him gets destabilized and he gets thrown. Pain mitigation is a power of his (even if he is shown receiving pain in some comics), but apparently he is still susceptible to a concussion. In short, Juggernaut has options to knock him silly.
I personally would love to see Blob really power up. I would love it if a comic writer decided to let an older Blob reach a zen state of mind. Let him be an Omega-level gravity manipulator and really be immovable.
Hell, with how PC Marvel tries to be, I am surprised they haven’t focused on Blob yet. Blob finally learns self acceptance with his body image and becomes one of the strongest mutants around. I joke because I think it would be one of the few times that it would actually work for the existing character.
