Clay easy on the fingers

I've been using sculpey/sculpey firm. I mix the two but its a little tough on the fingers for me. I used (what i assume) is waterbased clay when i took sculpting class. Which just slapped on. Any clay that has similar properties?

you might like soft grade Chavant. very soft and buttery when warmed with a lamp and soft enough to warm in your hands though it's slightly firmer then. Nice for big sculpts.

I'd go for Monster Clay. When heated up it is very easily malleable, it has the texture of really soft taffy without the stickiness of Chavant for example. It also reacts much better to solvents for smoothing than Chavant or Prima Plastilina.

Here's a video review from someone, kind of gives you an idea what the consistency is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Od4ySoSFmcg

I heat mine in the oven, by the way.

I second Monster Clay. Even when cool, you can pull off little pieces that warm up in your hand and are very easy to work.
I microwave my tub for a minute or 2 and its nice and soft.
