I know they're making a line of busts, but I haven't read anything about full size pieces. They're all movie representations, as opposed to using the original Gibbons designs.

well if you follow DC's pattern of milking the hell out of one line I'm sure we'll see a TON of this stuff.

I'd be all over a full size Rorschach, comic or film based. Probably a Comedian too. Maybe a Doctor Manhattan.

But given DC Direct's lack of forward planning, and their iffy and seemingly random attention to quality control I couldn't commit until I saw them in person, even if they did get made.

i'd really only go for a movie Dr Manhattan because it looks pretty much exactly like Gibbons art

You don't think Rorscach does as well?

Rorscach looks pretty good as well, in fact all of them do (after my initial misgivings after seeing some earlier stills) but Manhattan looks like he has been animated directly from a Gibbons drawing, all Gibbons characters have a certain 'thinness' to them for want of a better description, and Manhattan has that whereas the other don't

I hope these are made. My fear (which would likely be the case) is that they would make them in scale with the other DC characters they've done over the years. I have had a real problem with DC's smaller scale and feel that Bowen's (1:7?) scale is most appropriate.

Bottom line, if these are done very well and in the "Bowen-comparable" scale, I'm all in. Otherwise, no matter how solid the piece, I'll pass.

I couldn't agree more. I'm basing this on the mini-busts (not interested in the figures). They all look good, but the Dr. Manhattan bust looks the best and closer to the comic.
