I'm trying to get the straight dope on this statue/sculpt; Who sculpted it originally? Was it really a proposed Warner Brothers store statue? Here's a couple of completed eBay auctions for reference with photos:

The first time I saw this sculpture was at a Southern California Mad Model Party, a show many years ago. It was an entry in the model contest.
The second time I saw a copy of it, it was on sale at a Southern California hobby shop, with a "Made in China" sticker affixed to the bottom. Long, long gone, now, that was years ago.
When I talked to the guys working at the hobby shop back then, they said it was a proposal for Warner Brothers, but mentioned nothing about a European connection.
