Awesome, I wasn't aware of the Absolute Edition, thanks!

But I did notice that a Swamp Thing TV series seems planned for 2019:

Some thoughts...

Just checking up on some old looks concerning Swampy - if we compare:

and

- then I don't think Sideshow really has changed anything - I even think my Cranius looks more moist/wet:

- and my Swampy can look quite wet/moist too:

Some dude took this photo of his Swampy, probably with a real camera - I can't get this quality with my phone camera:

I'm far from a professional photographer - in fact, all my photos were taken using a smartphone! Sure, if I had the light and a high-end (professional) camera, I'd be able to get much better photos.

Then again, it may be true that Sideshow did produce a more glossy variant - I'd need the hell of a camera and a true light magician to get photos like these based on my own statue

I think this looks fantastic. If this was polystone it'd be getting a lot better reviews which I think is totally unfair. Vinyl is lighter but not cheaper. If anyone is into Godzilla, X-Plus makes fantastic figures using vinyl as well.

I love the sculpt. But it still looks like a shiny hunk of cheap plastic.
It looks like you can bend him. Great sculpt-Horrible design choice. You

it certainly doesn't look cheap. the vinyl has more-of an organic look, which is perfectly suited for a sculpt like this. but this statue is mixed materials, the waist down thru to the base is heavy and solid ... though you can't tell that just by looking at it, only by touching, it's seamlessly blended.

I personally think this piece looks amazing. I have no interest in ever owning a Swamp Thing, but that doesn't negate the fact this looks very well done.

That could very well be true, but once collectors hear the word vinyl, plastic, PVC etc, they're predisposed to dislike it. I myself am the same, as for when I think of a statue, I think of something with a bit of heft, and not something that a child could hold with ease, as we know is the case with this figure. I know it's a psychological reason, but it is what it is.

Personally I think the above materials and various forms of translucent resins are better used for movie representations as imo they can better achieve actor likenesses, and more lifelike skin representation, over something like Polystone. However because we sometimes associate such materials to toys etc, you'll tend to hear comments that it looks plastic, cheap etc, even though in a lot of cases it's probably done a better job at skin representation than Polystone.
