Yes and no.
I've been going to Toys R Us since a child. I continued into adulthood.
I've bought model kits (though that's pretty much gone now), diecast cars forever as I am a car guy, presents for nephews. Those high end FX lightsabers as I collect movie prop replicas. Adults may buy a gaming system and games obviously.
I buy NECA figures, those damn things are amazing sometimes.
"toys" are not just for kids. I may not actually play with them but collecting is legit reason adults go there. Why couldn't this mom just ask that collectibles that are a little questionable be put up on a high shelf or something? Problem solved.
It's not like porno figures are being sold.
A kid isn't going to have a clue who those Breaking Bad characters or Sons of Anarchy characters are anyways.
I"ve never even seen a kid looking at that kind of stuff. Seems no interest to me.
