If you're not too sure, come have a look at mine.

I think it's worth the price even if the shipping is that high. On the plus side, he will be declaring it at a lower value so we wouldn't be hit with customs charges as much.

They should seriously offer to sell the new packaging and smaller box to the original owners. I'd be curious to see it.

I don't know. I suppose you could look at it this way.
I remember when it was still just a pre-order (original) and the near universal opinion was that $600 was nuts, he wouldn't sell hardly any, and we could pick it up in a few months on ebay or from retailers for half that. Turns out it sold out, and lots of people are still looking for it. I think this is a decent way to try to make it available for more people while not overly diminishing those that already have it and the price they paid. I mean they could make this edition size the same as original or much larger than 50 if they really wanted a cash grab without regard to those who bought the original, IMO.
Of the two I like the original much better, but I won't get either. It is just too big for me to want or display. I don't have the space.
Happy for everyone that gets one though.

Right, which doesn't make this a coincidence. It's their most sought after piece and widely considered their only "grail".
Like I said, you can't blame them. Seems to be the industry standard these days and they're a small outfit as well. As a collector though, I just find it weak when a collectibles company dips back into the archives for a reissue of any sort.

I'm only buying this because the box is 1/3 smaller then the original.
